Celebrating Mrs. Bonnie: A True Community Hero

July 1, 2024

EarlystART is thrilled to congratulate our very own Infant & Toddler Teacher, Bonita “Mrs. Bonnie” Conley, for being nominated as a Buck O’Neil Legacy Seat Honoree at the Kansas City Royals game on Monday, June 24th, 2024! This prestigious recognition celebrates individuals who have made significant positive impacts on the Kansas City community, and there is no one more deserving of this honor than the incredible and beloved Mrs. Bonnie.

As a Buck Honoree, Mrs. Bonnie had the extraordinary opportunity to watch the game from Buck O’Neil’s legendary red seat at Kauffman Stadium – the same seat where Buck once sat while scouting. It was a memorable evening as Mrs. Bonnie enjoyed the game with her family, surrounded by the love and support of many EarlystART teachers, students, and families.

Mrs. Bonnie’s dedication to early childhood education spans an impressive 44 years, with nearly 16 of those years devoted to nurturing young minds at EarlystART. Known affectionately as “Grandma Bonnie” by many EarlystART students and families, she is a beloved pillar of not only St. Mark Center, but of our entire community.

A lifelong Kansas City Royals fan, this honor held special significance for Mrs. Bonnie. She remembers watching the 1985 World Series live on TV with her family, and since then, has seen more Royals games than she’s missed.  Seeing her receive this recognition and enjoy such a wonderful experience was incredibly fulfilling for everyone who knows and loves her.

Congratulations, Mrs. Bonnie! Your unwavering commitment and love for the children and families of EarlystART inspire us all. Here’s to many more years of building bridges, inspiring minds, and impacting futures.
